However, no matter the size, you'll want to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.

An 8x10 rug, on the other hand, will fill the visual space of a seating area, and the front legs of all furniture should be placed around the edges. Again, you'll want to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.

You can then repeat the process with a cleaner or a solution of water and dish detergent, finishing by blotting with a clean, wet, and then dry cloth.
